Vascular laser

Vascular laser treatments selectively target blood vessels in the skin, without affecting the surrounding skin. We have several vascular lasers, the DermaV and the Clarity II, allowing to treat all types of vascular lesions.

The main vascular indication are:

  • spider angioma, cherry angioma
  • Port Wine Stains (PWS) of angioma planum
  • spider veins legs
  • redness & spider veins face
  • venous lake

Treatment usually lasts between 15 to 30 minutes, and is little to not painful. Some discomfort can be experienced (burning sensation).

After the treatment, the skin may be red and swollen. Depending on settings used the swelling may take 3 ups to 5 days to disappear. Rarely, bruises can occur, but they disappear within a few days and can be camouflaged.
In the treatment of varicose veins, a dark discoloration of the treated veins may persist for several weeks.

Until at least 4 weeks after a vascular laser treatment it is required to absolutely avoid the sun, in the treatment of varicose veins this may even be necessary for 2-3 months, therefore such laser treatments are only be performed in winter.

In general, multiple sessions are required to achieve the best results, on average 2-3 sessions, with an interval of 4 weeks. Follow-up sessions (annually or every two years) may be necessary to maintain the results.
