What is the LaseMD Ultra Laser?

The LaseMD Ultra laser, is a non-ablative thulium laser which is a gentle skin rejuvenation laser. It mainly works on superficial skin layers (epidermis and superficial dermis) and has similar effects than CO2 or erbium laser, but is less aggressive.

What is the LaseMD Ultra used for?

Aesthetic indications are pigment treatment, skin rejuvenation and for cosmeceutical delivery.

The penetration of cosmeceuticals is limited by the natural skin barrier. The LaseMD Ultra laser creates small micro-channels into the epidermis to increase the absorption of active and effective cosmeceuticals into the deeper layers of the skin. The cosmeceuticals used are specially designed to be used with this laser and to penetrate into deeper skin layers and are highly concentrated, active and effective molecules. The LaseMD cosmeceuticals are Tranexamic acid, Vitamin C, Vitamin A (retinol) and Resveratrol.
The synergy between this laser and the cosmeceutical delivery makes this a very effective and gentle laser rejuvenation treatment and an excellent preventive anti-ageing treatment.

Medical indications are: active acne, acne scars and other scars, melasma, epidermal pigmented lesions, actinic keratosis and photo-damaged skin.

Why is this treatment called the Baby Face treatment?

The “LaseMD Experience” combines the laser, cosmeceutical and facial mask with Healite LED therapy for a ‘medical spa experience’
It is called the ‘Babyface laser’ because it improves skin tone and texture, fine lines and sun damage related skin ageing. It gives a smooth and clear skin, like a baby.

Is the LaseMD Ultra treatment painful?

Depending on the treatment parameters used there is no to limited pain. Use of a numbing cream 30 minutes prior to the treatment is recommended for higher energy settings.

How do I look after the treatment?

The downtime depends on the indication and settings used:

• The BabyFace treatments for cosmeceutical delivery is a very mild treatment and gives only slight redness and swelling for 1 or 2 days. After the treatment the skin feels dry and needs to be moisturised repetitively during 1 week.
• More intense skin rejuvenation and some medical indication require higher energy settings, causing redness, swelling and tiny crusts for 2 up to 5 days. The skin remains very dry and rough (‘sandpaper feeling’) for 1 up to 2 weeks after the treatment and needs appropriate after care to restore the skin barrier.

When do I see the results?

Results are seen 2-3 weeks after the treatment and will last up to 3-4 months.
A noticeable improvement can occur after one session but, depending on the severity of the skin problem to be addressed,  repeated sessions are recommended to achieve optimal results. For anti-ageing prevention we recommend a minimum of 3 treatments annually.
Medical indications like acne, scars, sun damage and melasma usually may require multiple sessions.

What is the ideal combined treatment ?

This treatment  can be combined with Genius Microneedling Radiofrequency in the same session, to have a skin tightening effect in deeper dermis next to the more superficial skin tone and texture improvement of the LaseMD Ultra. This is the so called Totalskin Solution, to ‘tighten and brighten’.
