Excessive Sweating

Sweating is a totally natural process through which the body controls temperature. Some people suffer from excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis.

It can be a minor annoyance, but it can also be a serious condition, that can affect the quality of life, relationships and careers, of patients affected with hyperhidrosis as they are reluctant to get close to other people and/or shake hands.

Localized hyperhidrosis of the armpits can be treated effectively using subcutaneous injections of botulinum toxin. When injected subcutaneously in the area to be treated, Botulin toxin temporarily reduces the production of sweat by the sweat glands. Botulinum toxin slows down the secretion of sweat for 6 to 12 months.

An alternative and longer reduction of sweat secretion can be obtained using Genius
microneedling RF treatment. The high intensity Radiofrequency applied in deeper skin layers will reduce the production of sweat by sweat glands. It usually takes 2 session with 1 month apart to successfully reduce the sweat production for a longer period (2 years or more).

Hyperhidrosis can have multiple causes; a blood test can be needed to exclude a medical cause (thyroid problem).
